The road between coming up with a script and getting started on production is quite long. There’s a lot that has to be done and the simple truth of the matter is that you could use all the help you can get. This is where Celtx comes in. Celtx provides all the tools you need to go from script to shoot – tools to write and create, tools to collaborate, tools to prepare for production.

The installer you need to run to get Celtx up and running on your PC is little over 13MB in size and that means it won’t take long to download it. The setup wizard that shows up when you run the installer will have you pick one of two installation methods:
Standard – Celtx will be installed with the most common options.
Custom – recommended for experienced users, this installation method allows you to choose individual options to be installed.

When you run Celtx, you will be presented with a Welcome prompt. On the left hand side of this prompt you will see a list of project templates. And on the right hand side you will see a few sample projects. I invite you to load one of those sample projects. It will help you get accustomed to the interface and get a better understanding of what can be done with Celtx.

Speaking about what can be done with Celtx, here’s a quick look at the functionality you can expect to get: works on a script, novel, screenplay, and more; save data to an online workspace; create storyboards and camera setups; create shot lists; collaborate with others; create cast and crew reports; schedule and budget productions, and more.
